Fina Birulés

Philosopher and essayist 

From the perspectives of contemporary thought, feminist theory and women's philosophical production, Fina Birulés has developed a career focused on political subjectivity, history and action. Professor of Philosophy at the Universitat de Barcelona between 1979 and 2020, she is a researcher at ADHUC—Research Centre for Theory, Gender and Sexuality and has been a member of the Philosophy and Gender Seminar since its foundation in 1990. Her research has paid particular attention to the work of Hannah Arendt and other twentieth-century women philosophers. She is a translator of works of contemporary philosophy, the author of numerous essays and the editor of collective volumes. Her publications include Una herencia sin testamento: Hannah Arendt (2007), Entreactes. Entorn del pensament, la política i el feminisme (2014), L’embolic del gènere. Per què els cossos importen? (2019), Hannah Arendt: el món en joc (2023) and, most recently, Navegació de cabotatge (2025).
